The about 16,000 Saxon church records are frequently containing indexes in the beginning or at the end. In early times they have been ordered by names, later by surnames. Some of these indexes have been copied from microfilmed church records, retyped in surname order and are now available to the team. Since indexing and publishing a church record are very time-consuming we are publishing the available indexes within this category independent of the state of church record indexing. Thereby the family and local history researcher is able to achieve an overview of the appearance of surnames at different locations. Compilation of inventories for these church records is done completely independent according to researcher's interests. Indexes are merely supposed for orientation and ease searching in the church records.
Whoever has reffering material within his stock, too, may publish it on this platform. Helping hands for transcriptions are always welcome in the team because there are still more indexes in paper copies existing. Publication is free of charge.
